Current Project – Rush 2

Rush 2 (working title)

>Game Is Directly In The Browser Below<

Rush is a top down shooter with a special mechanic: The player can only shoot projectiles from other objects in the world. The player can never shoot projectiles directly from their character. The player will explore the depth of the shooting mechanic and experience tense, dramatic situations that come from a game that teeters the player between power and helplessness.

What’s further down the page: The experience in the current iteration is a very action packed early area of the game. You learn the mechanic through a couple of puzzles, and engage your first enemies. The demo builds to an intense, difficult and climactic moment of pure helplessness and hopefully fear.

What you’ll need: A mouse, and some headphones for the audio.

****IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE GAME ABOVE****

  • A pathfinding bug seems to have cropped up with the Laser Enemies. Instead of going around your turrets will move straight through them. Beware.

************

Core mechanic: The Player is able to shoot bullets from other objects in the world while in range. The player can only shoot from these points (called Turret Walls). There is no limit to how many Turret Walls can be activated at a time as long as they are in range.

A bunch of really cool features and experiences to come, for example:

  • Linking: You will be able to “Link” Turret Walls to the player character, allowing you to shoot that Turret Wall from ANY range!
  • Evil Turrets: A specific enemy will be able to sacrifice itself to turn one of your precious Turret against you. Whenever you are in range of it and click the Fire button, an Evil Turret will fire at YOU instead of your mouse point! However, if an Evil Turret is Linked it will shoot at you non-stop from  any range!
